A second strike has grounded most flights by Eurowings and Lufthansa CityLine. The 36-hour strike began on 23 July and continued into the next day, resulting in almost 1,000 flights being cancelled. It was called by the Cockpit pilots’ union to demand higher wages. An earlier strike by the same union, on 7 July, had resulted in over 600 flights being cancelled. Other strikes may follow if no agreement is reached.
