A 24-hour strike by the Cockpit pilots’ union, which represents pilots at Eurowings and CityLine, grounded both airlines on Monday, 7 July. Over 600 flights were cancelled. The union is calling for a similar wage increase as Lufthansa’s mainline pilots received. CityLine’s fleet includes eighteen Avro RJ85s, while that of Eurowings includes five BAe 146-200s and ten -300s. Lufthansa owns 100% of CityLine and 49% of Eurowings.
