South Africa’s Airlink has awarded BAE Systems Regional Aircraft a contract to repair a damaged Avro RJ85. RJ85 ZS-SSH (msn E2285) suffered extensive skin damage to the lower fuselage and damage to the nose gear doors when she landed at Johannesburg with her nosewheel retracted on 11 November 2011. No one was injured in the accident. Following an initial damage assessment and a comprehensive damage report, BAE Systems Regional Aircraft dispatched a team of six specialist engineers to South Africa to carry out repairs on ZS-SSH.
