Korongo Airlines finally operated its long-delayed first service, from Lubumbashi to Kinshasa, on 16 April. That service was operated by the airline’s Boeing 737-300, as was its first international flight, to Johannesburg, two days later. Korongo’s BAe 146-200, OO-MJE (msn E2192), has a light schedule at present, with a single weekly round trip between Lubumbashi and Kinshasa. She will be used primarily on regional routes from Lubumbashi, but the airports involved require upgrades. Once regional routes are added, the airline’s second 146, series 200 OO-DJJ (msn E2196), will also join the fleet.
