As it awaits permission to begin operations, new Bolivian Avro RJ operator Ecojet conducted a demonstration flight for members of the media and local authorities to Potosí. RJ85 CP-2788 (msn E2278 ex D-AVRK) made the flight from the airline’s base at Cochabamba on 18 September, covering the route in just under half an hour. She has recently been painted in the airline’s full colors. Ecojet received its AOC from Bolivia’s DGAC in late July, but is still awaiting an operating certificate from the Telecommunications and Transport Authority (ATT). A public hearing scheduled to review the issue had to be postponed just as it was about to begin because of a technical objection from Ecojet rival Amaszonas. Ecojet’s second RJ85, D-AVRK (msn E2317), is at Cochabamba awaiting certification by the Bolivian authories.
