Ellinair has taken delivery of its second Avro RJ85. RG85 G-CHIN (msn E2296 ex OO-DJW) had been returned by previous operator Brussels Airlines in June 2012 and stored at Kemble as G-CHIN. She departed to Craiova on 29 March for pre-delivery work by Daedalus Tech, but had to return to Kemble because of an avionics problem. Her second attempt proved more successful, and she reached Craiova on 5 April. Now painted in Ellinairs colors, registered SX-EMS, and bearing the name Athens, she was ferried to the airline’s base at Thessaloniki on 1 June, joining sistership SX-EMI (msn E2305). SX-EMS entered service three days later, operating ELB200 to Kyiv. Then, on 9 June, she operated the airline’s first service to Stavropol.
