Inflite Engineering Services has closed its aircraft maintenance operations at Southend. Inflite’s Southend base had been certified under EASA part 145 to provide all major maintenance checks, minor maintenance checks, and defect rectification on BAe 146s and Avro RJs. Over the years, the company had worked on the 146s and RJs of a great many airlines, but the dwinding fleet led to a decision to concentrate the work at the company’s Stansted base. The last RJ to pass through Inflite’s Southend base was Swiss RJ100 HB-IXP (msn E2383), which arrived on 5 June and departed on 29 June. Inflite’s Southend base closed on the following day, but component repair and overhaul services continue at Southend.
