Jota Aviation‘s new Avro RJ100 G-JOTS (msn E3355) operated her first services on 7 June, flying from Southend to Lyon and back as BE6100/6101 and then to Reus as BE6200/6201 — both routes that the airline is operating on behalf of Flybe, which in turn is operating on behalf of Stobart Air. Jota’s RJ85 G-JOTR (msn E2294) has been operating the routes since early May, but G-JOTS will now take over most of this flying. Jota acquired the RJ100 from lessor Falko Regional Aircraft. She had been in storage at Cranfield since being returned off-lease by Brussels Airlines in February. After undergoing a maintenance check at Avalon Aero’s facility, she was ferried to Southend on 16 May for painting and rolled out in Jota colors on 24 May. She is configured with 97 seats in a five abreast layout.
