Two of Neptune Aviation‘s BAe 146 air tankers had to cut short their winter vacation. All of the company’s 146 tankers had recently returned to its Missoula base at what they thought was the completion of the fire season. With new wildfires raging in southern California, however, Neptune Tankers 10 (msn E2138) and 12 (msn E2196) went back into action. “We started in January of this year and here we are in December flying again,” Neptune’s Chief Operating Officer, Dan Snyder, told a local television station. “Are we ready to end and have a Christmas break, yes, but when there’s a need we’re ready to get out there and help.”
