Jota flies charter to Baku

Avro RJ85 G-JOTR (msn E2294) operated one of Jota Aviation‘s longest ever charters on 28 May, when she carried a party of football fans heading to the UEFA Europa League Final—between Chelsea and Arsenal—in Baku, Azerbaijan. After a positioning flight from Southend, she departed from Stansted for Baku. The 2,200 nm trip required an en route stop in Bucharest, which is conveniently located almost exactly midway between London and Baku and close to the RJ85’s maximum range. Each leg took about 3 hours. After the match (Chelsea won, 4-1), G-JOTR then returned to Stansted on 30 May, once again staging through Bucharest.
